Frequently Asked Questions

Here we outline more information about the who, what, where, why and how of Mothers Help. If you still cannot find what you are looking forward, please send us a message. We would be more than happy to answer any questions.

What is Mothers Help?

The aim of Mothers Help is to support parents in running their busy households. We believe a tidy and orderly house enables you to have a relaxed and clear mind. Parents, mothers in particular carry a huge mental load daily.

We are here to help carry the burden. Yes, that refers to tidying up and keeping the home orderly. Yes, that refers to support you with your young children. Yes, that could mean a quick vacuum and spruce up.

Whilst we are not a cleaning service, we do support in light cleaning duties (clearing and tidying surfaces, dishwasher, laundry). If you are searching for a specific cleaning service, we have some wonderful connections with local cleaners, just ask!

Our niche is to support parents in other ways, with chores, daily pesky tasks, decluttering, regaining order, supporting parents with young children feel more in control and supported.

How can you help me?

We are mothers who know how busy a home can get. We understand that your responsibility as a mother / parent is a never ending list of tasks which can often be overwhelming if you do not have help. Our mother’s helpers are experienced in housekeeping, and will support you with your pet peeves around the home. While we can undertake light cleaning duties, our main focus is in supporting with daily challenges, linen and laundry, organisation, decluttering and other general household chores & errands.

3

How does it work?

As household responsibilities never rest, we find that regular visits, minimum 2-hour sessions, are the most helpful arrangement, as we give short frequent bouts of support in your busy household.

Bookings are made booking online, or sending us a detailed enquiry form via the website or social media.

Once you have booked, you will be issued with an invoice. The booking date and time cannot be confirmed until payment is received.

4

Can I get support if I am not at home?

Yes, we are happy to make an arrangement with clients to service their homes when the client is out. There needs to be permission in writing and instructions left for the Mothers Helper ahead of the appointment time for this arrangement to happen. We require a safe environment to work within – please arrange for pets to be left in a secure place for the safety of our staff. Failure to do so will lead to a cancellation of the appointment at full price.

5

What does it cost?

Is this a cleaning service? Is this a nanny service?

Mothers Help is not a domestic cleaning company, but are able to support you around the home to keep your place neat and tidy.

Clients are required to provide the mother's helper with the cleaning products and equipment (vacuum cleaner and washing liquid for example) which you would normally use around the home.

We do not consider ourselves a nanny, yet we will happily mind the kids if you need to pop out for a chore, while we are in the home. Please consider us to be another parent in the home, assisting you in getting through the responsibilities of running the household.
